Urgent Care | Kaiser Permanente Lakewood Medical Offices

Went in on the 4th of July and was seen within 10 minutes of checking in. In less than an hour I was off their (very comfy) bed and checking out with the pharmacy. They've just rebuilt their offices, so expect parking to be weird for a while.

Got in a bike wreck and saw Katie Long at the Urgent Care. She was great. She listened and provided sound advice. She even called me a few days later to make sure I was doing okay over the weekend before my follow up. I greatly apppreciate the care I got from the whole team.

It was good

I was seen on 6/22 by Ryan Reinken, DO, for severe abdominal pain. While I appreciate that a workup was performed (labs, ultrasound and CT), I was extremely concerned by the inaccuracies in my medical record.

The note states that I had hyperkalemia and transaminitis, yet my actual lab results showed low potassium, elevated calcium, and normal liver enzymes. It appears Dr. Reinken may have confused hyperkalemia with hypercalcemia, which should never happen in a medical record or at all for that matter by a doctor. I was also discharged with ibuprofen despite the final assessment and diagnosis being gastritis, a condition that NSAIDs can worsen (and which Dr. Reinken knows, I would hope). Ibuprofen is never advised for gastritis. I’m including a photo for my after visit summary. I hope Kaiser really takes a look into this.

Medical records need to be accurate. Patients and future providers rely on them, and documentation errors like these undermine confidence in the quality of care.

The staff there were very kind. The room and tools were clean.

I was afraid because I had sudden very scary stomach pain but everyone was very kind about it.

The wait time was as expected with any kind of urgent care, but I didn't feel rushed through.

Special shout out to the nurse I believe their name was REBECCA (I Hope that's right, they had shorter cut hair and had great bedside care.)

Checked into urgent care on a Sunday morning, about an hour after they opened. In and out within an hour, including pharmacy. I’m from California so I’m use to Kaiser Permanente being an all day event due to short staffing and high population density. I’m amazed, and I still got an apology for how “slow” they were. I’ve waited longer for phone consultations.

I cannot stand kaiser they are a complete rip off. If you can skip going to urgent care for something minor I say do. Its not worth the money they charge you. Its better to just diagnose yourself or go to your PC. Healthcare is just a money making machine anymore and its really sad.

I’m not the type to go to see a doctor unless I really require it. Last night was one of the days, I was in so much pain I needed to go in. Yes, it took a bit to get me in but it’s that way with any urgent care. The doctors and the nurses were incredibly friendly and helpful. I was in desperate need for medical attention and left the clinic last night feeling so much better than when I came in. The staff was attentive and listened to my issues thoroughly and got me the treatment I needed. This was the best urgent care experience I could have asked for. Unfortunately I did not get the name of the nurse last night but she was so nice. She saw the pain that I was in and did everything she can to get me immediate attention and relief. I am so thankful I chose this urgent care.

I took urgent care to my young son on this location for an ear Infection today.The new building looks great, and everything is set up very nicely. The service was fast, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall, everything was excellent, and I was really impressed with the experience.
