Therapies of the Rockies

Would NOT recommend for gender affirming voice training!! My time (and money) were wasted by someone who didn’t know what they were doing. While the staff are friendly, my therapist wasn’t competent in teaching transgender vocal coaching. A lot of the therapy was too short and unfocused, >30min session of “what questions do you have?” rather than a structured plan. Poorly prepared notes and exercises. Mostly just doing the same exercises overcorrecting for resonance over and over for months, with no progress or feedback. Was just told “eh, it’ll come naturally. just keep doing what you’re doing.” Consistent lack of follow up over email. Also they cancelled an appointment with no notice. Insurance billing was incorrect.

When my primary care provider advised I would need a “speech therapist” as part of my trip down the road to concussion recovery, I was beyond confused. And it was not due to the injury. I truly didn’t understand the magnitude nor the magic that these miracle workers performed within these walls, and I’m now forever in debt to the staff here, specifically Miss Heather Gregg. 🥹
From the very first moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and comforted. She explained to me the reason behind my attendance (turns out, “speech therapy” goes beyond my previous ignorant perception of just learning how to speak more eloquently or with better ease) was neurological recovery, aka, getting my jumbled up neurons firing on all four cylinders again.
She then laid out some “kids” puzzles (connect the dots, comparing the pictures, etc). I scoffed and sped through the first few rounds. It wasn’t until I got to the last page when, for the life of me, I could not accurately draw a clock face on an empty circle, and I froze. I began screaming to myself in my head that I KNOW how to do this, so why can’t I just draw it? Miss Heather recognized my look of panic, fear and pain … and instantly comforted me. She was so thorough with her explanations of what was occurring and her plan going forward. This was only matched with her kindness and empathy. With her constant encouragement, knowledgeable support and even purchasing a couple of “games” just for us to play in her office that worked certain parts of my brain, I finally “graduated”. With honors. ☺️
If you ever need anything related to cognitive therapy.. you’d be hard pressed to find a better organization than Therapies of the Rockies.

Take your business elsewhere and do your children service by finding a center that can support them. I get heart-broken when I see adults wasting the time of special needs children. If you don't have the skill set to help special needs children, please find a different job. You function in this world just fine. These kids don't and they need help. So why waste their time?

As a teacher I worked with two therapists from Therapies of the Rockies at the school I was at. They did wonderful work with my students. I trusted their services and expertise. I had my son evaluated by Therapies of the Rockies and they immediately were able to assist us and accomdate our schedule. My son enjoys coming and will benefit from their kindness and awesome abilities.

We were excited to start my son’s therapy here because of the great reviews. Unfortunately we did not have a great experience at the Aurora location. We found his therapist distant and uninterested in my son. They never set goals for him or even distinguished his strengths and weaknesses. Speech therapist just kept saying words like “up” & “down” but my son talks in 3-4 word sentences. She never even knew he was that advanced because she was preoccupied by playing with the toys herself. The Occupational therapist was worse—kept him away from toys he wanted to play with for unknown reasons. She also never interacted with my son. Just sat there and observed him. It almost seemed like she didn’t like kids. Overall, my son didn’t gain one single skill here.

I understand having a bad day but EVERY appointment was like this. We’ve been to multiple therapy providers that were much more engaged and data driven on my son’s success than this place. Save your time and money and go somewhere they actually care.

I wasn't expecting to get much out of occupational therapy, but in a matter of ten sessions Miss Bailee helped me through so much. Her coping recommendations suited my needs to a T. I genuinely don't know how she did it.

My 9 year old daughter has been seeing Lauren A. and she’s had a great experience. Lauren makes OT incredibly fun while still strengthening my daughters skills. She works on OT both physically and emotionally, which I really appreciate. She looks at the child as a whole package instead of only focusing on what challenges they are physically struggling with. She’s given me great tips on ways to work with my daughter that I’ve incorporated into the care of my other children as well. I’m thankful we have Lauren on our team and I so appreciate how much my daughter adores her.
