I use the optical (eye care) dept to have my eye exams done. The exams are very through, and the optometrists are very knowledgeable and helpful. If one needs an ophthalmologist appointment, then from my understanding, the Long Beach Hospital/clinic has them available. They also are excellent! For some exams, I was informed at the Santa Ana office that they can perform the same visual inspection that the ophthalmologist in Long Beach performed. I have gone to a private ophthalmologist in the past, and I found that the VA SA Clinic has excellent staff every time I have scheduled an eye exam. I am astonished at how fast, helpful, and the quality of care I received this morning at the clinic! They called me back at promptly at my appointment time, conducted a thorough eye exam, and got me everything I needed to ensure my vision care would continue. I hope these positive experiences continue! Thanks to the hard working staff and Doctors!

I'm new to the VA. I waited foolishly over 5o years to make a claim. On advice of a civilian audiologist I plied in May of 2021 and was quickly given a hearing test in Santa Ana . Soon thereafter I was awarded a 60% disability for hearing loss and tenuous. I was advised to go to the LONG BEACH VA as anything over 50% you qualify for me medical benefits. I found the VA in Long Beach quite efficient and relatively quick. The podiatry department was the only place had to wait over 15 minutes. I got orthopedic shoes, socks, glasses, all my civilian meds plus a shingles shot. Apparently since POTUS TRUMP the VA has gotten off the pot and is now as it should be, service oriented!...read full review
