In 2021, I was quoted between $5-$7k to prepare my quarterly estimated taxes and my 2022 return. As of this writing, I've been billed over $30k, more than 5x what I was quoted. I'm a W2 worker with very standard tax considerations. While there were additional billable hours consulting with Andersen, they don't account for this discrepancy.When politely inquiring why this quote was so off, I was promptly fired as a client. While I believe the services rendered are accurate, the lack of transparency and communication around billing make this a firm I can't recommend doing business with.
