UCLA Health San Luis Obispo Cancer Care

After getting diagnosed with leukemia I didnt know what to think. It felt like the world was ending. I spent almost 6 weeks in cottage hospital under the care of UCLA doctors. Who were really great. After my time in the hospital I was set up to do the rest of my treatments in san luis by t h e airport. The staff in san luis was great. All the nurses and receptionists were kind and courteous and I got to know them all on a first name basis. I was in there almost everyday. And everyday it was the same thing. I recommend anyone with a diagnosis to use ucla oncology. They are kind and they are definitely the best when it comes to treatment and care. Today is my last day of treatment and am very great full for the people here. Thank you and God Bless

We are Blessed to be under their care. Dr. DiCarlo and his team have went above and beyond to help my wife and we want to be anywhere else.

I was called in even before I could finish the paperwork. Friendly and efficient front desk staff. First meeting with Dr. Tao was excellent. She is confident, friendly, open and confidence -inspiring!

I recommend them all the time I like them because they use newer and modern treatments and they treat the patient so kindly

I cannot say enough about this Oncology team, Dr DiCarlo and Mary Okimoto and the excellent type of care I have received. I cannot forget their staff. I was referred to Dr DiCarlo several years ago. I'm shocked that I didn't give a review before. They are amazing in so many ways. From the first time I met this doctor and staff, I felt extremely calm and well taken care of. When my other doctor did not respond to questions, I felt I could ask them and I would receive a response/suggestion within a short period of time. I tried not to take advantage of their open/sincere attitude because they are dedicated and helpful, regardless of whether it is in their dedicated area of expertise. I am grateful to be a part of their team.

I've been fortunate to be treated by Dr. DiCarlo and Mary his PA for several years. They are the best. The office is amazing, clean, up to date, great staff. Yes, I agree with others; we are so fortunate to have this office in our county! We would be driving to LA or SF otherwise, and would not get any better care than with Dr. DiCarlo. Highly recommend.

I have seen a primary Physician here and am also followed by an Oncologist.I have complete confidence in both of these women.I was able to get in to see both as a new patient in a short amount of time.Dr. Chen my primary physician was professional and caring and I felt well taken care off and all my routine lab and tests were taken care of easily.There does appear to be a long wait for routine primary care, due to the general shortage of Primary M.D’s but I do not think if you urgently need an appointment you would have to wait.Dr. Chamberlain is my Oncologist and I have a routine yearly exam for a rare and slow growing cancer in my lung.I feel very comfortable in Dr. Chamberlain’s care.I feel I will get the most up to date and thorough care within the UCLA medical system because they are out front in Medical Research and implementing new treatments.I only wish all my Doctors were within the UCLA system.My experience with support staff has also been excellent.Everyone I’ve interacted with has been professional, kind and helpful in ways that go beyond just doing their job.I’m very happy to be a part of this Health Care System and its employees.

Dr Villa is excellent. She listens and cares about me. I'm status post 2 cancers surgeries and new to this area. I highly recommend Dr Villa
