Garden of Memories Memorial Park

This is a nice cemetary. I have 9 family members buried here and some friends. There are some beautiful antique headstones from the past. However NOW, all headstones have to be flat with the ground for maintenance reasons.Whenever I visit my family graves its like going to a park. Sometimes I burn sage and have a picnic, and talk to the spirits. Its a lovely peaceful place.

Old tombstones everywhere, wide spaces in between lots, clean Graves, trimmed trees scattered around different locations around the cemetery & Noble Prize Winner John Steinbeck is buried here with family members. Second Oldest cemetery in Salinas. Lot spaces available for purchase. Open till sunset.

This is a beautiful cemetery. It is large. They keep the premises clean and the gardeners do a great job of upkeep and keeping the grass nice and green and trimmed. Typically they have someone working inside the office area but nobody was there when we went this Saturday. Bathrooms are locked and they provide porta potties outside- those were locked as well. For the most part the cemetery is quiet and clean. Depending on services held, it can get crowded and people leave there trash-beer cans/wrappers, alcohol bottles behind. My family will not visit when services are being held for local gang members for obvious reasons.
