Do yourself a favor and visit your neighborhood health clinic if you are a man who needs help with low testosterone or high estrogen. The nurse practitioner Cherie Booker is incredible, kind, intelligent, and takes the time to fully understand your situation. Her office manager Michele Gibson, who is also her daughter, is exceptional in all ways. This is a true piece of Americana and a family owned business that deserves support.
There is a managing physician who oversees everything, so you are in good hands and all is 100% legal. Controlled substances are not a problem for them to prescribe when medically necessary. They will also allow you to use your own blood work if you prefer to use Life Extension to save money, which connects with LabCorp for convenient lab testing. It is a fair and honest business model that you will appreciate.
I know the name says diabetes clinic, but they also help with any hormone therapy you may need for both men and women. I also feel you can use Cherie and Michelle for any ailments you may have, this place is great!

My OB sent me here for gestational diabetes related stuff. I came out of the appointment with anxiety and a general feeling of shame, embarrassment, and shock.I was 5/6 months pregnant and had already gained 20 lbs. She berated me for having already gained that much and that I would not be allowed to gain 10 more pounds or "there would be a problem". When I told her that this was my second pregnancy, but first with GD, and that I had gained 3x the weight with my first pregnancy than I currently had with my second, her eyes popped out of her head. She then started berating my OB in front of me (and another worker in the room with us) saying that he "should know better since this is what he does for a living". I shouldn't have had to explain my previous pregnancy's weight gain to her, but I told her that I had been gaining the recommended weight per week and month and I didn't have any other health issues so there wasn't a problem as far as my OB and I could see.She gave me a pamphlet on food recommendations, portion sizes, etc and told me to follow it. I called my OB's office in tears 2 or 3 days later because I was so hungry and was too afraid to call the dietician.Apparently I was not the only patient of his to call in tears that day, or week, about her treatment of us. By the time I saw him the following week, he had me seeing someone else.I won't bother telling you other things she said in our appointment, but I felt like I wasn't confrontational or "difficult" in any way yet I was still treated this way. Save your time and money and find someone else.

First off, to the guy saying they don't accept private insurance, that's not true. They accepted our Blue Cross when my husband went in just the other day. The doctor was thorough and compassionate, and took the time to address all of my husband's questions and concerns.

They only accept MediCal and Partnership. It would be great if they advertised this as I waited all morning for them to open just to be denied because I have private insurance. Really a bummer.
