We had Dr. Sawyer as our oncologist for our senior dog. She was able to walk us through our different treatment options effectively, and was always available for questions throughout the treatment period. We never felt pressure or guilt to choose one treatment over another. Even though our pup passed after 3 months of treatment, we’re thankful that she got the best treatment she could have to manager her discomfort and pain. We will always be grateful for Dr. Sawyer’s empathy and guidance.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Silvia Funes in Internal Medicine for several years now. She’s the one who finally got my pup on the right food to control years long GI distress. No more chronic bouts of diarrhea. It makes all the difference in the world! She also diagnosed my girl’s thyroid issue and got her on medication. She’s very empathetic and has been a joy to work with.

Dr. Funes has done two rhinoscopies and one endoscopy on my golden retriever. I trust her whole heartedly with my pup. She’s incredibly kind and caring and followed up to make sure Finn was recovering well. The staff here are also incredibly kind and caring, and I cannot imagine how hard it must be to witness beloved animals in dire need rushed in day after day. Be prepared for long wait times if it’s not a life threatening emergency, but the quality of care is so top notch that I will gladly wait here instead of driving somewhere else with a shorter wait time.

Bringing a sick pet to a clinic puts you in an incredibly vulnerable, stressful position. You expect empathy, but Oakvet showed an absolute lack of compassion. We drove all the way from San Francisco just to be subjected to terrible treatment by assistant Vanessa Schell. When I honestly stated that I could not afford a $4,000 treatment, she responded with attitude and tried to make me feel ashamed. She then completely flipped the situation, falsely claiming I was raising my voice and telling me to calm down. She threatened to have me kicked out, telling me I could just leave with my sick pet—all while literally smiling.
To weaponize a pet’s health and smile in a pet owner's face during a crisis is disgusting. Vanessa Schell added immense stress to an already heartbreaking situation. Avoid this place if you want your family and pet treated with basic human decency.👎

Dr Kidd in oncology explores all possible options and is respectful of whatever path you choose. I have not found that to always be the case with other vets. Special shout out to his compassionate and thorough oncology nurse, Kaleigh.

My experiences in the hospital with the oncologist, Dr. Sawyer, and the surgeon, Dr. Grange, were absolutely wonderful—first class in every way. Both Dr Sawyer and Dr. Grange were compassionate, patient, professional, and caring. I arranged a special meeting with Dr. Sawyer because I was so stunned and upset at this painful diagnosis. She was wonderful, and did her best to put me at ease and feel supported. I would say that the doctors at OakVet are outstanding.
However, dealing with the ER wing of OakVet had some discomforting problems and was not a wonderful experience. Both the extremely long wait and the rather high prices for subscriptions and care were disappointing.
Most problematic, however, both my adult son and I found the manager from the ER department that came up with the charges and met with us for the final meeting, unhelpful, dismissive, and bordering on rude. In our opinion, she should not be retained in this position.
If I had not had the first extremely positive experiences with Dr. Sawyer and Dr. Grange, I would have been totally put off by OakVet and would not recommend its services.

First of all if you're in a real emergency, don't take your dog here cause it's gonna wait hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and cost you thousands and thousands and thousands because it's a specialty clinic so if you can hold off, don't take your dog here also I'm not sure how good the vets are actually in this office given that I brought my dog there about two weeks ago and they were not able to diagnose her with her actual problem. I spent $4000roughly to get a diagnosis that was incorrect. I took her to my mother's vet in the inland Empire, who was instantly able to diagnose the dog and all for $78. My dog was in pre-pregnancy without ever having been pregnant and no doctor in the area was able to tell us that they just didn't rub her belly. They ran all these unnecessary test. They still weren't able to identify what was wrong they are highly incompetent predatory and the service just overall was lackluster. I don't know how these people get their license license to become veterinarians or technicians. It's actually wild so I'm unless your dog has cancer or something like that that would really refrain from taking it to this hospital.

Definitely five stars from us. Taking your fur baby for a surgery is never fun. Our Roxy needed TPLO surgery after hurting both back knees. Our Dr. was very genuine when giving us options during the consultation. Also, the staff was very professional and comforting. I hope not to return and if I do, I have the confidence my fur baby will be treated with comfort.

I cannot recommend OakVet enough, especially Dr. Silvia Funes if you are looking for an internist. My dog Juno was diagnosed with IMHA (immune mediated hemolytic anemia) in April 2023 at 10 months old. Dr. Funes was incredible and super knowledgeable about IMHA. She came up with a treatment plan to get him weaned off meds at a slow pace to avoid any possible relapse. After every visit I've always left with great news and she is always so sweet to Juno!! Fast forward a year later and as of April 2024, Juno has been med free, thriving and in full remission. From the bottom of my heart, I truly can't thank Dr. Funes enough
