Across the 5+ decades of my experience of home ownership, I've had cause to hire a lot of people to install or fix something. Yesterday, Gabriel of E-fficient HVAC installed a new hot water heater for us and I'm delighted to share that this experience was one of the rare ones; it was entirely positive. First, when I was calling around to select a company to do the job, Gabriel was completely responsive and over the phone quoted us his flat rate for installing a 50-gallon heater. Gabriel is a straight up artist when it comes to hvac systems. We had quotes from a few places, including some major names, and when I met Gabriel he was so down to earth and told me exactly what we needed to get the comfort we wanted. He came in 15% lower on price than the big players, who tried to sell their reviews and services as the reason we should pay extra. We had a couple mini splits installed 2 years ago by a different company. They turned out to be mediocre. I walked Gabriel through our issues with contractors in the past, and he gave me real talk on the system they had installed for us. He walked me through my options and gave me an exact quote. Gabriel's mama named him right because he is a legit Angel! We had a so called furnace "inspection" a few years ago that comparitively was a joke. Everytime it rained, nasty basement smells were circulating thru the heater vents and the system had gotten loud. There was a possability mice were taking shelter and getting into the ductwork! Gabriel booked an inspection the day after I reached out, and showed up flashlight in hand. It took him about 10 minutes to find holes in the ductwork, a gaping seal near the air intake and a number of other problems.
