4 years ago if you would have asked me about what I think about the DAV, I would have done nothing but single their Praises and give them my highest recommendation. O what a difference a couple of years make.The VA had me rated at ? for the past four years and then every Veterans nightmare happened. Out of nowhere I got my rating dropped. Apparently I had missed a couple of crucial appointments. I missed them because I was never informed that the va had scheduled them.Panic began to set in and I immediately remembered the DAV and the work they had done to help me a few years prior, so I decided to hive them a call. This DAV site completely messed my BBD up. They missed every submittal time frames the VA requires even though all information was given to them. The next steps were not explained despite me asking, I was only told to wait for the letter from the VA for the appointments which never came because they submitted everything out of time frame. They never followed up with anything unless I called them everyday to ensure it was done. I really can’t say a pleasant thing about this process with them which is unfortunate because all I heard was such great things about this organization but never got to experience it. Suspect. 2 weeks ago spoke with a DAV representative, I think he was having a bad day. I was able to get the local number through the DAV National office because the contact information listed on google was not current. I call the new number today and it has a recording giving me a phone number for the National office. I just expect more than personal address labels and stickers (and the ever present donation request). *sigh*
