Blake is by far the best traditional style tattooer I know. My whole family goes to him! I've gotten several pieces done by him. Each tattoo has killer line work, vibrant colors, and heals quick without issue. Even my older tattoos still have great color! He is very professional and accommodating. If you have a vision he'll bring it to life. If you are unsure of exactly what you want he has a wide range of flash you can choose from.
The whole shop is super clean, friendly, and humorous. There is also a really cool art gallery in the front that always has some pretty rad stuff to look at.
It always feels like a risk when you go to a new shop which is why I can't recommend this place enough!

Yelp saw this first but stumbled upon this place while walking down the historic street and had a really good experience although I didn't get any tattoos!
There's a bunch of interesting art throughout the space and even a cool little spot to sit and chill at. 100% worth checking out, the owner was working with a client when I came in but took the time to introduce himself and he's a super chill guy and you can just tell that he is a creative at heart. This type of environment is what brings the community together and I'm all for it!

Blake is the man! I’ve been getting tattooed at Black Umbrella for about 4 years now and the vibes are unlike other tattoo shops. The artists actually make you feel welcomed and not intimidated. Plenty of food and coffee shops in the area too which is always a plus!

This is a really cool shop with the art gallery in front. Very artistic vibe, the shop is clean as well. Sam Ngo greeted me as I entered the shop and answered questions I had regarding some work I wanted to get done. He was very professional and a pleasure to work with! He was thorough in asking what I wanted to get done and created a custom piece for me based off some ideas that we had gone over. Overall I’m super happy with my result and can’t wait to get my next piece done by Sam in the near future

He has become not only my number 1 artist, but a great friend. I trust him to always get me right and do better than I even thought was possible. Black Umbrella Tattoo & Art Gallery is such a solid space. It’s rare to find a place that blends a professional tattoo studio with a genuinely curated art gallery, but they do it effortlessly.
The energy is welcoming, the artists are talented, and you can tell there’s real intention behind everything they do. Whether you’re getting a tattoo or just stopping in to see what’s on the walls, it’s always a good experience.
Definitely a spot worth checking out.

This place is awesome! I always make it a point to come to this shop and get at least one tattoo here. So far I’ve been getting tattooed by Blake! He does amazing work and he really ensures everything is perfect and makes sure that I’m happy with how everything will look before starting. Overall 5/5 stars across the board

I am OBSESSED with my cover up tattoo by Sam Ngo 😍 The design, the execution, the whole experience—everything was flawless. They absolutely nailed my vision and made the session fun and comfortable. This is hands-down some of the best work I’ve seen, and I already want another one.
