UCI Health — Fountain Valley Emergency Department

UCI Health - Fountain Valley Emergency Department is a primary stroke center accredited by The Joint Commission, providing emergency care 24/7. They have physicians, triage nurses, Level III NICU, and pediatric ICU, serving the Orange County community. A patient expressed gratitude for the care received during labor and delivery. The nurses, MDs, social workers, and staff were kind-hearted and helpful, even when there were delays in administering epidural anesthesia. The lactation nurse and pediatric nurses were also praised for their attentiveness. A family member of a patient appreciated the team effort and kindness of the staff during their mother's surgery and recovery. The CNA, David, was attentive and gentle, while Joana, the medication nurse, made the patient feel welcome. Maryanne, the nurse, provided excellent guidance over the phone for post-discharge care. The appendix removal of a daughter was handled promptly and efficiently. The ER staff, particularly the charge nurse Francis, were commended for their professionalism. The surgeon, Dr. Lam, and anesthesiologist, Dr. Hoo, kept the family informed throughout the process. The pre-op and post-op nurses managed the patient's pain well and answered all questions. The pediatric unit's charge nurse, Deanna, and nurses, Elaine and Kathy, were recognized for their exceptional care. Despite the excellent care provided, one area for improvement mentioned was the food, which was not found to be enjoyable. Overall, patients and families appreciate the kindness, expertise, and attentiveness of the staff at UCI Health - Fountain Valley Emergency Department.
