Folsom Stair is the best. Our designer recommended them and there was absolutely nothing to be disappointed about. Nick, Bobby, Caleb, Danny were all very professional and were a pleasure to have working our 2 week project. Most impressive was their attention to detail. Bobby is a real craftsman and his focus on every aspect was impressive to see. He takes a very personal approach to his work to make it better than the best and after 20+ years of doing this, he is well qualified. I highly recommend them for your project.

Folsom Stair completely transformed our home by replacing our 90’s yellow oak railing with a stunning modern walnut and iron design. The craftsmanship and attention to detail exceeded our expectations—they even matched our hardwood floors perfectly. Throughout the project, the team was professional, courteous, and maintained a safe environment, which was especially important with our two small children at home. I really wanted to give a positive review to Folsom Stair. I paid premium price for mediocre work. The installer Steve was amazing. BUT sadly, the rest of the company are a bunch of chiefs who want to run the company. Meanwhile the owner is living in Montana resulting in poor communication with and within this company. I like my stairs, BUT it took a lot to get them to the point they are at now. If I had it to do over again, I would have hired a different stair company. If you choose to proceed with this company, do so cautiously. Be prepared to stay on top of them for the duration. My experience with Folsom Stair began with Danny who spoke so quickly and assumed I knew everything there is to know about stairs. He made me dizzy. Nick clarified a bunch of stuff weeks later that I wish Danny had told me. Unanswered emails to several employees was frustrating. As I said, if you wish to hire this company, be prepared to keep on top the them for the duration.

Good people to work with. We needed a stair rail installed on our staircase opposite the rail which is already there. We wanted it for safety purposes.They were prompt, professional, and easy to work with. They took all our suggestions into account and created exactly what we wanted and needed. The installer, Mike, is a real artisan. Highly recommend them.

***First off, sincere apologies to the stellar crew at Folsom Stair & Woodworks for the delay in getting this review written and posted***"Absolutely beautiful", "gorgeous", "stunning" are just a sample of the comments we've received from family and friends after seeing our new staircase.Last year, we had originally planned to re-paint/re-stain our 1990's honey oak staircase after replacing the carpeted floor throughout our home with engineered hardwood. But, after visiting with the team at Folsom Stair & Woodworks and realizing how much more beautiful a completely new and redesigned staircase would complement our new wood flooring, we opted to replace rather than update our existing staircase. And, boy are we beyond happy we made the decision to do so -- and ecstatic with the end result!Everyone directly involved with our project -- Danny, Mike and Nick -- was easy to work with, and definitely committed to exceptional quality and craftsmanship.Danny and Nick were incredibly helpful and supportive in guiding us through the design phase, and educating on us newel posts, balusters, handrails, risers, treads, and color matching, to help us make the appropriate material decisions.We can't say enough about Mike, who is a true artisan, and who knocked the installation "out of the park" by fully exceeding whatever expectations we may have had going into the project. He was beyond meticulous, and in the end created -- at least from our perspective -- a true work of art!Nick did an exceptional job of color matching and hand painting the maple used for the newel posts, treads and handrails, and the finished product is nothing short of spectacular. Our staircase needed a refresh, so I found this company. They did an excellent job helping take our boring hallway staircase from blah to beautiful. To be clear, they did not paint the moulding- just put it up bare and then I had professional painters finish it off. My painters also added an extra clear coat to the railing as I felt it needed more protection from our 4 kids. Overall I would recommend this company.

Had our stairs redone recently and used Folsom Stair. They did an amazing job. Took a bit longer than expected but the end result was quality work! FYI, they don't lay luxury vinyl on the treads, that was laid by our flooring contractor Capital Construction who I also recommend.

These guys are real professionals and the workman ship is excellent. We've had some bad experiences with other contractors BUT working with these guys was phenomenal. Everything was ready on time, they were always so nice, the railing is BEAUTIFUL the gentleman who installed was absolutely terrific, he really loves what he does and is good at it and just came and did his job (without stressing us - which so many other contractors did - And you have to micromanage them to get them to do it on time and to do it well - not this guy at all). He was focused on the details, worked quickly and cleaned up when he was done. I can't say how much we appreciate it, thank you so so much!
