Blue Dragon Taekwondo/Muay Thai/99 Jiu-Jitsu is a martial arts school that offers classes for all ages and genders. The owner and primary instructor, Professor Anthony, is dedicated and knowledgeable about MMA and Jiu Jitsu. He is assisted by a skilled staff, including Sensei Daniel and Carl, in teaching multiple classes on weekends and evenings. The school has been beneficial for a child with learning difficulties, as the structured and stimulating environment has improved their attention and discipline. The training has also raised the confidence of another child, leading to success in other areas. Adults can also take MMA and Jiu Jitsu classes, which are described as phenomenal with a supportive atmosphere that encourages improvement. Workshops for women's self-defense are also available. A young child who attended for a few months loved the training and continues to express interest in martial arts. The school's teachers are praised for being good with kids and strict when necessary. The school offers unlimited classes, and a child who has been attending for a year has progressed in both MMA and Jiu Jitsu. The parent is glad they found Blue Dragon Taekwondo/Muay Thai/99 Jiu-Jitsu after trying other martial arts schools.
Have been attending AKA San Diego for about 7 months. I had a good experience starting off as they are very beginner friendly. Coach T provides excellent coaching, and the environment at AKA is great.
After combing through many studios attempting to locate the right fit for my kids schedule and instruction, we found that Blue Dragons or now known as The American Combat Academy was it. No other studio we visited with was offering what this one can; Classes six days a week, multiple disciplines, adult and youth classes, and a smaller more intimate class training environment. Professor Tony and his master instructors are true professionals to thier craft. I have entrusted them for over two years now and I will never regret the decision I made to enroll both my daughter and son. They both have flourished under the leadership of this studio. They have made life long friendships and have made tremendous strides in learning both the arts of Taekwondo and Jui Jitsu. Both of my children regularly compete in Jui Jitsu competitions nationally. They have been recognized as State and World Jui Jitsu champions, all thanks to Professor Tony and his amazing staff of instructors. This is the place! Don't waist anymore time or money anywhere else, come in and check it out. Your kids will thank you later!
My family and I have been taking classes at Blue Dragon Martial Arts since October 2023 and have had a great experience so far. He also has an amazing staff, Sensei Daniel, Carl and others who join in and help with the classes, as there are multiple classes for all ages and genders on the weekends and in the evenings. Overall, the place is great for all ages. Our son with his learning difficulties has benefitted enormously from this - in the relatively structured and stimulating environment, along with the engaging classes, his attention and discipline has improved immensely. Our other daughter's confidence has been raised through the training, which in turn has only helped her excel in other areas. My wife and I also both take adult MMA and Jiu Jitsu classes with him, and both classes are phenomenal. His instructors make it feel like a fun and supportive atmosphere, which in turn pushes you to work hard to get better. He also gives workshops for women's self-defense now and then, which are fantastic for building self-confidence and learning to defend yourself.
