10 STARS for Sonny!!! Was going for my first haircut in 2+ years and my first in Berkeley. Sonny was incredibly patient and thorough in listening/determining what style would suit me best. Even walked me through a couple different looks and crafted his recommendations based on my hopes. All in all the haircut took over an hour but still charged the flat rate of $35....ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?! Totally highway robbery considering the quality of the cut and time involved (so bring a healthy bit of cash for tip :) He even took the effort to artfully package my clippings for donation (see below). Sonny is a professional. He won't be chatty because he focuses on your hair. He has cut my hair with precision, technique & has given me the best haircuts of my life and I won't forget them. He uses professional tools, and his salon is sleek, modern & clean.

Having lost my main barber due to early retirement due the pandemic, I went through 6 different barbers until I was lucky enough to find Sonny. Sonny literally gave me the best haircuts of my life. Just as other reviews read he takes his time to assess every angle imaginable to make sure you come out amazing. I think he is charging too little! Besides the haircut, my favorite part was not having to do mindless chit chat like most barbers. It's straight, to the point and you can also enjoy YouTube videos of fashion shows or temples in Japan. Best in the bay !!
