Central City Community Health Center - Baldwin Park

Central City Community Health Center (CCCHC), located in Baldwin Park, CA, was established in 1994 to serve low-income and medically underserved residents that fall below the 200-percent Federal Poverty Level. The mission of CCCHC is to provide quality patient-centered health care and human services to low-income, underserved individuals in a culturally sensitive manner. During a phlebotomy externship at CCCHC, one student observed that the staff was welcoming, nice, encouraging, uplifting, and friendly. The students were impressed with the fast and efficient way the staff worked with patients, and noticed that the staff built personal relationships with patients and genuinely cared about their health and well-being. Patients were excited to see the staff and engaged in conversations, demonstrating the strong relationships between patients and staff. The staff worked well together, constantly communicating to ensure patients received the best care and that all their needs were met. Even during busy mornings, the staff remained on task and ensured patients were seen in a timely manner. The overall workplace moral was described as top-tier. Two students had Fernando as their trainer during their phlebotomy externship and had a great experience. They found him to be an amazing trainer and felt that they learned a lot. The girls and staff at CCCHC were described as super nice and kind. The students would recommend CCCHC to family members and friends and noted that the staff truly cares about their patients. In summary, CCCHC is a community health center that provides quality patient-centered health care to low-income and medically underserved individuals. The staff are welcoming, friendly, efficient, and genuinely care about their patients.
