We have been using Westbrook Vision Center since moving to the area. This week, I received a message that we would be charged $35 dollars for a retinal scan. We have Vision Insurance for glasses and contacts. It does not cover the scan. We also have medical insurance, which does cover the scan. I was told that since we are coming in for a routine visit, only our Vision insurance would be billed. I contacted our medical insurance, which is an Anthem Medicare PPO, prior to calling. Due to our age and family history, we both are covered for the scan. The person I spoke with was insistent that we needed to pay the $35 dollar "co-pay". I've worn glasses/contact lenses for over 50 years and had the worst experience at Westbrook Vision Center a couple of years ago. They gave me the wrong prescription for my progressive lenses. Thought I had to adjust to them and after weeks of trying to adjust to them I finally took them back to only find out that the glasses were for computer use. Their employee's response when I took them back "was my bad." The corrected prescription didn't work either. They requested that I take another eye exam which I did and had to pay for. Weeks past after the new eye exam and still didn't have my new corrected glasses. All of this took over 3 months... read full review
