I moved to NWA after going to the same hair stylist for 16 years- so scared to trust someone new with my hair. Gracen EXCEEDED my expectations and has not only done exactly what I have wanted- but always does whats best for the integrity of my hair. She continues to educate me on the best products and care for my blonde and extensions. She sees each client as an advertisment for her business and craft-- and treats them as so. Highly recommend!!

I came here after using the same stylist in my hometown for 5+ years. From the reviews, I thought it would be a good place to keep getting my extensions done. I wanted to love it, but I feel like I’m more disappointed than anything. My extensions were bumped up less than 3 weeks ago and they’re poking out of ponytails. I’ve never ever had this happen before in my 5-6 years of extension wear. When I lift my hair up, I can see how badly they are sewn in. And the bad part is, she charged me MORE this last time than I was quoted to pay per row for a move up. All the girls are nice, but for what it costs for extensions to get done, I need them to be done correctly.

Gracen is amazing! I came to her over a year ago for a color correction! After trying multiple salons, Gracen got it exactly like I wanted it - the first time! I’ve had both long hair and short hair - she’s amazing for any length. She also does incredible work with extensions! Highly recommend!

I scheduled a highlight appointment as a first‑time client weeks in advance. I received a confirmation text, a reminder, and even spoke with the receptionist when booking. When I arrived, they couldn’t find my appointment. One stylist told me, “I don’t do men’s hair,” and then told another girl, “You have a men’s haircut,” even though I was booked for color. I later learned the receptionist had cancelled my appointment without notifying me or sending any type of cancellation note. The staff apologized and said a manager would reach out to make it right, but no one ever contacted me. Just sharing my experience for anyone looking for a new color stylist — this didn’t feel like the right place for a new client, especially a male client or someone with a short hairstyle.

I debated doing this review but once I got home and saw what my hair looks like in the back for the money I paid, I just need to say something about this. I went in wanting my hair blonde again and cut short and showed her the picture below of what I wanted, which is a picture of me from a few years ago done by my old stylist in Vegas. I proceeded to get the worst cut I’ve ever gotten. The color was originally grey but they were able to fix the front at least but the back has no color. It looks like my natural color even though they dyed it and charged me for multiple bowls of color because my hair is thick. I paid almost 400 dollars for this haircut which I am used to paying my old stylist for my hair to look like the picture I showed her. Instead I got Kate Gosselin from Kate plus 8 circa early 2000’s. I don’t think this chop job that was done to the back and cutting it so short was really a 400 dollar job. I think everyone would agree looking at these pictures. I feel like I should have been offered a discount since both the color and cut were not what I asked for. The stylist knew I didn’t like it because I was crying in the chair and told her I didn’t like it. I told her I looked like an old lady with the color and the cut was too short though it was to late to fix the shortness. When she started cutting, the chair was turned away from the mirror so I didn’t see until it was too late. The owner came up to try to fix it and that’s when the damage to the back took place and then she cut herself and bled all over me. It was just a nightmare of an experience and now I wonder if I will be able to find anyone in NWA who can do hair to the level I’m used too. I don’t think the stylist I had or the owner are of the experience level to be charging that much. I hate to say that bc the girl I had was very nice but I told her ahead of time I have very thick hair, it takes several hours to do my hair and I wanted to go back full blonde from my natural darker color. I’m just very disappointed and to top it off I’m postpartum and already feel pretty awful about my appearance and thought this would make me feel better. Instead, I feel worse about myself and am embarrassed to leave the house until this grows out.
Update: They did refund the full amount of the cost once they saw this review which I do really appreciate. Also the stylist I got this cut from was Gracen and the owner did the back. There may be other stylists at Copper and Oak that could do a better job, and I wouldn’t want to take away business from them. I only have this one experience with this particular stylist and the owner to go off of.
