“Took my 12 year old dog here after another office falsely diagnosed her with pancreatitis and Dr. Linkenheimer checked her and within 24 hours she was so much better. In 24 hours we went from thinking we would have to put our baby down to her being healthy as ever. The facilities were SO SUPER clean and I was very impressed. We were treated promptly and kindly. We will definitely be returning and I would recommend you do too!!! Thank you so much River Valley!!“

“The care is excellent, the doctors and staff responsive. My best little Buddy ever became ill in August 2023 with an enlarged heart which eventually led to his passing on Christmas Eve morning of congestive heart failure. Although I thought I had prepared myself it was extremely difficult to experience. I was advised that eventually he would cap out with what could be done. The doctors and staff worked closely with me and any time I would call they responded immediately. It is now the end of February 2024, and something has troubled me that from August to December they heard from Buddy and I quite frequently. Since Buddy passed away it's been as if he was forgotten and there were no sentiments or condolences offered for a pet and his devoted owner who suddenly disappeared from receiving care. No one wonders where we've been? It has been quite sad, and as a pet dad I am lost without him. But I do appreciate everything they did, sometimes a bit more matter of factly and what seemed to be unsympathetically than I was able/willing to hear. Grief is a very tough thing to handle. He was not just a dog, he was part of the family and treated as such. I do not expect anything from this review other than the recognition that our pets are important to us and their longevity and outcomes being minimized is a very sensitive matter.“

“I used Monroeville Pet Hospital from Sept. 2006 until our dog's passing on June 10, 2024. We unfortunately had to make the decision to let our dog go instead of making her suffer from kidney failure. The ENTIRE staff couldn't have been nicer or more compassionate. My husband and I were quite upset when we arrived with our sweet dog and they were so incredibly kind to get us in a room right away so we could be alone with our dog instead of out in the waiting area. Dr. Oster was on vacation that week and the doctor who was filling in (Her name escapes me. I wasn't quite thinking right that day to remember her name.) was very kind during the whole process of putting our sweet dog to rest. The following week when Dr. Oster got back from vacation and learned of our sweet Willow's passing she called to see how we were doing and express her condolences. She expressed what a sweet dog Willow was and listened to me about every thought that I had about missing her and people bothering me about getting a new dog and how much that bothered me. She took so much time to speak with me when she could have rushed me off of the phone especially when there was nothing in it for her because we don't have any other pets that she is taking care of for us. We have had the best experience with Dr. Oster over all of our sweet Willow's life. She is knowledgeable and compassionate even though it doesn't come across that way to people who haven't experienced her for as many years as we had. You can't go wrong with seeing Dr. Oster. Not only do I miss our dog, I miss seeing the entire wonderful staff at Monroeville Pet Hospital.“

“First, they were able to get us in the same day. Which is very rare for a veterinarian.Dr. Sweeney and his associate were so kind and gentle with our cat during the examination. His diagnosis was bad. Dr. Sweeney gave us time to process and decide the next step without any rush. He gave our cat an injection to put him to sleep before the euthanasia injection and this made us feel more comfortable staying with him until the end. When his ashes were returned, he included a paw print out of clay and a heartfelt card expressing his condolances. Simply amazing, I wish we would of found him sooner to care for all our animals.“
