I've been going to Bill, the owner and operator of Salon Hair Express in the old Lit Building, ground floor of 701 Market, for close to 15 years now any time I need a cut or trim. He is amazing in that he always seems to be in great spirits and a terrific mood. He is really knowledgeable and fun to talk to about lots of things, and also can see if you're not in the mood to chat and will get right down to business, which I often appreciate. Of course, he is a consummate professional and I leave with a great looking cut every time without a deep hit to the wallet. They offer full service for women, and another men's stylist recently took residency at the salon as well, so there's always an opportunity to get what you need when you need it. Pro tip, if you're going to ask for Bill and you want to impress him, be prepared to talk about something interesting you've been reading recently. He'll love it.

Well, I go their all the time. My stylist name is Mrs. Eraine Townsell- Moore, she is one if the best stylist in Philadelphia. At this salon everyone their does a great job!! I love this salon, I have been going here for over ten years. ???

The owner of this salon is, as we told him “One of the things that makes Philadelphia beautiful”. Such a genuine soul and everyone in this place just seems to be in the best mood. Thanks for an awesome pick-me-up and the history lesson ;)
