“Yes Portlanders! You've gotta check out this vegan mom & pop shop!! My daughter and I went for a tarot reading and tattoo. We spend several hours with Toni and Amber. Them being just genuine all around good humans MAKES this experience so much better than just going to some place for a reading/tattoo. Mind blown. They are inclusive, thoughtful, patient, the vibe in the shop is calm & they deliver. Our readings were great, I think it gave us both some things to think about for sure. The tattoos, wow. We had a couple options that we had a hard time choosing from. Toni is light handed, and did an amazing job. We both left very happy. I am already planning my return for a specific tattoo with my youngest son. I found out by word of mouth about this unique experience & am absolutely glad I made an appointment. Things to know: I recommend checking out the website to better understand the process, and scheduling - I scheduled like 2 months in advance. They are inside a building, you can't just pop in off the street, code needed. The parking is metered You'll have such a cool experience :)“

“My wife and I started a new tradition several years back. While we love to travel new places, we opted to get tattoos of any domestic trips we take. Since these typically have to be walk-in appointments we were super excited to see Gold Sparrow accepted walk-ins and also on such late notice. We called around 230PM and we're told come around 530PM. My wife got a cute little tat by Teddy on the back of her arm. Has am evergreen tree, mountain scape and some crashing waves. I initially wanted something small. Not as much detail. Met with Douglas and showed him two pictures. One of a minimal line drawn compass hardly any detail. And then a lighthouse I found too. And gave him a few thoughts of mine and then said it's in your hands. Whatever details, shading etc I wanted him to freely do what he liked. And I am ever so happy I did. Cuz he more than killed it. I mean there's so much little detail in the whole tat that I'll find myself just staring at. And then when I look at pictures of lighthouses I just see my tat now. Absolutely over the moon happy and even told my wife after we left. Hands down best tattoo, tattoo experience and decision I've made. Thank you for giving us more than we ever could've thought of. “After years of following Parker on Instagram, I was finally able to come in for a piece of her art! Everything from start to finish was smooth. Parker’s assistant was extremely helpful throughout the booking process. I was lucky to land a flash piece Parker had created. Parker went above and beyond and provided me with additional variations of the flash piece to ensure I was 1,000% happy with the design. I love that she took the time to look at the design with me, and to make further minor adjustments for a perfect fit. Throughout the tattooing process, Parker was a calm, delightful presence. I felt extremely comfortable and relaxed at Midnight. I loved the extra touches she provided - like cbd seltzers and a ton of movies/shows to watch during the tattoo time. She offered plenty of breaks and made sure to check in with me throughout the process. I am over the moon obsessed with the piece she created for me and can’t wait to come back for more!Also, I can’t forget to mention how lovely the studio is. “I got a tattoo saying “nanay” (mother in Tagalog) in my mom’s handwriting on my forearm, and it’s really special to me. Marvin was kind, professional, and welcoming. He was patient when I asked to reposition the stencil a couple times.From personal experience, I’ve met a few tattoo artists that were kind of intimidating, but Marvin made me feel comfortable and reassured, answered questions before and after getting the tattoo. Everything from her beautiful and inviting studio to the joyful conversation, which had me laughing more than one probably should while getting a tattoo. But her art work/design... I had a pretty nebulous concept and Kat found a way to bring it to life in the most interesting, engaging, and beautiful of ways! “The Chillest Tattoo Experience EverGirls & Roses is legit! No egos, no hassles, super clean, they even have snacks.I’ve been following this shop for a couple of years watching for the perfect lady head design. Available pieces are always changing; they release new, limited edition, collections once a month (give or take).The booking process is simple; pick your design, pick your date, make a deposit and show up. There’s no consultation, back and forth DM’s and lingering status.When I arrived Ruben had my design template ready in multiple sizes and orientations for me to “try on” (what?!), I picked my girl, he printed a stencil and got to work. I took a cat nap and just over an hour later we were cleaning up and discussing after care. He sent me home with a care kit and an extra sani-derm patch.I’ve been getting tattooed in the Portland area for over 20 years and working with Girls & Roses has been, by far, my best experience yet. I’m looking forward to collecting more art from the talented crew in this shop.“
