I almost hate to share how wonderful Dr. Hong is! If you get in with him, it is lucky! He is an amazing acupuncturist with outstanding credentials. More importantly, he and his staff have been very patient and always beyond welcoming to me.
Oregon Acupuncture Center has it's own building, parking lot, and easy street parking in front. It's easily accessible on the ground floor, with no elevations.... easy access for strollers and wheelchairs, and those of us hobbling around in need of body repair. The reception area is huge, and there's many treatment rooms. Max, the receptionist is quite astute, taking insurance cards and handling new patient information forms. When I arrived, there was a mom with a stroller and baby with an appointment ahead of me. I observed the congenial manner which Dr. Gene Hong MD greeted them. When it was my turn, Dr.Hong reviewed my paperwork, and explained his treatment plan for me. He gave me hope, listing to him, as he keeps up with the Medical community, and also knows acupucture. What I like, is that he went to Stanford Medical school, and worked in Medicine for decades. From his experience, he truly understands Western Medicine and has developed a method of treating patients with Acupunture from this vantage point. Like the other review, I found his needles do not hurt at all. I am hopeful that my issues will resolve with Dr. Hong's treatments. When I left my treatment room, I found 5 other people had arrived in his reception area. They all looked happy to be there. One was in a wheelchair. Oregon Acupuncture Center is open: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Dr. Hong has a west side clinic on SW Barbur Blvd: Oregon Acupuncture Clinic, open: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. If you have a stroller or wheelchair, I highly recommend this Oregon Acupuncture Center because the accessibility is easier.
