Vision Source Hamilton is the oldest eyecare practice in Butler County, recently celebrating its 100th anniversary of service. The practice was founded in 1920 by Dr. Hugh Baker, who specialized in "eye-ear-nose-and-throat". Dr. Joseph Baker joined his father's practice in 1935, and brought with him broad-based training focused on vision. Dr. Hugh remained active in the practice until age 85, and Dr. Joe retired in 1987 at age 75. It was in 1987 that Dr. Thomas Nye joined the practice. As an optometrist, Dr. Nye offered to the practice all facets of primary eyecare. This included vision evaluation and correction, contact lens care, treatment of eye disease, and surgical co-management.
