“I recently relocated from Boston to Manhattan and I was feeling anxiety about having to find a new barber. Men act like they don't care about their hair, but we do ....we really do! So to find a competent, caring and qualified barber was important to me. After searching online for a few days, visiting websites and reading reviews I found Don Nikos Barbershop. The images of cuts, lineups and fades on Yelp and Instagram got me to think that this might be the place I should go to. From entering the shop on my first visit I felt welcome. The shop has a chill vibe, is brightly lit and everyone is welcoming. I got hooked up with an awesome barber who goes by the name Shampoo. Lowkey he is a gentle giant, standing like 6'2 or something, but very patient and soft spoken. He consulted with me before starting to cut, and then would stop and check-in with me throughout the cut to make sure that the line and fade he was sculpting was what I had in my mind's eye. Most importantly for me is that he was not aggressive with his trimmers or the razor blade. I have highly sensitive skin and have had (what looks like) claw marks on the back of my neck for days after visiting some barbers in Boston. These marks not only burn like crazy, but look unprofessional. Shampoo gently lets the razon do the work and does not scrape the neck line. I've sat in his chair a few times now and I always leave with a great cut. I could not be more pleased with the level of service and care I get from Don Nikos crew.“
