Important Notes! The name of the salon is no longer Bernarda's salon, it is called Nelly's Beauty Salon. She is the new owner and will be moving the salon across the street in March 26, 2018. The new address will be 3408 Boston Road Bronx, NY 10469 (Inside shoe store) The numbers listed to call and ask questions are (718) 414-3097 and (718)653-2715 - [ ] Upon arrival I wanted to turn back around because it was quite busy on that Friday afternoon @3pm, I'm glad I didn't though! I was seen 15 minutes in starting with getting my hair washed. What I got done was a wash, deep condition, cut, set and blow dry, all for just $50. This was a fair price because of the length of my hair which was brushing my behind. Myra (who sits in the second chair) is the one who was working on me. She thoroughly washed my hair, shampooed 4 times and she even asked me if she was being too rough which I appreciated. I needed a deep conditioning to restore my hair so she applied one & placed me under a dryer for 20 minutes and immediately got me out when it ended to wash out the conditioner. She brought me to her chair and sectioned my hair to cut, she confirmed the length she was cutting with me before doing so! That is important to me and I know many other women who receive trims. She cut my hair evenly and had attention to detail. She put the rollers in my hair herself and set me under the dryer for 70 minutes and didn't have me wait a minute longer when the dryer ended. She put me in her chair and started blow drying my hair, she didn't burn my scalp once and didn't even need to use a flat iron to end it off (which is not something I'm use to, because I get it done at other salons) and she didn't need to because she did such a good job blow drying it! I appreciate not getting the extra heat unnecessarily applied to my hair. She asked me before applying hair shine and shine spray which was great! It was raining outside and she asked if I wanted to get a doobie but I declined because I was going out immediately after. I did ask to have my hair pined up and she gave me a plastic cap. I was finished by 6pm and I would say that was a good time spent at the salon. I would definitely stop by next time I am in the area! * My only critique would be the toilet not flushing but I'm sure this won't be the case in the new location.

New management now Nelly's salon is great! Your hair will be washed properly, and you will come out looking fabulous! They were full on Saturday but they were fast and professional.
