“I started going to Shaggy five years ago upon a friend's recommendation, and have been seeing Yossi for cut and highlights. The salon is great, and Yossi is the BEST! I find his cut to be very chic and sophisticated, and I constantly get compliments. Both men and women take notice, and most are strangers on the street. Likewise for the color. He's created a beautiful, sexy warm-tone caramel color with subdued highlights.His thin highlights were placed carefully on the layers to accent the cut.Shaggy Hair Studio is warm, friendly and clean, appointments run on-time, but because the location is not convenient for me, I've tried other salons from time to time. NO ONE has been able to reproduce Yossi's cut. His ability to layer hair and work with clients' facial structure to enhance one's looks are what sets him apart from others. I am an artist myself, and see the incredible skill and talent he has. With only one head of hair, it remains my GO TO salon!Update-Having left the Salon during Covid, I only recently returned after 3 years. I tried many other salons, and never received a compliment for my haircut in those years. Yet just upon returning home after my visit, I was stopped immediately in my doorway and complimented to my surprise!“

“Highly recommend Nailauri if you're looking for a Russian Manicure spot in NYC. Shorena is the owner and sole nail tech of this business and I started going to her in December 2023. I've always been a nail biter and because of this I've always had incredibly short nails that would become extremely thin or bendy when I tried growing them out. I decided to start getting Russian Manicures to try and grow my natural nails. From the first visit Shorena has been excellent. She is amazing at what she does and this is further evidenced by the wall of awards she has in her salon. She is even a certified Russian Manicure teacher which should tell you how good she is. Not only is her work precise and flawless, but Shorena herself is an absolute delight and a kind human. I love going to her monthly. As you can see from the photos, my nails started out super short (dark red), and continued to grow (white chrome and then bright red) and I just got the blue chrome done last week which are my natural nails! I ask for the strengthening manicure which adds a layer of protection and prevents breakage. She also does nail extensions, but I haven't personally gotten them. My nails have never looked better and I get sooo many compliments. Shorena is my go to and I will be sticking with her for as long as I live in NYC!“

I’ve been a few times, and have seen a different artist each visit, and each person is just as much of an exacting perfectionist as the last. The attention to detail is incredible, their colors are magnificent, and the manicures are exquisite and long lasting! I can easily go 3-4 weeks without a single chip, which is saying a whole lot since I have a job that requires a lot of typing (I also deep clean my apartment frequently, and wash all of my dishes by hand)!As a busy professional, I am grateful to have found a fabulous spot in my neighborhood to keep my nails looking their best all of the time! “Ellie did a fantastic job on my hair, which had a ton of damage from previous stylists not showing care. She spent literally almost 7 hours making sure that she took every step to prevent further damage and producing a beautiful result. And the price was so reasonable, she refused to take more than she quoted me, even after working the entire day. We also enjoyed great conversation the whole time. I felt like I was just hanging out with a close old friend. The salon is welcoming, warm, and private. Can't wait to go back to get my nails done too! ♥️“

This was my first time here, I needed a gel-x change while visiting the city for work and now I wish I could afford to fly back for every mani/pedi.I got a gel-x removal and redo at the same time as my gel pedicure. This is the first nail salon where I walked away with ZERO nicks or cuts, and no friction burn from the gel removal (gel-x girlies will know what I’m talking about, those efiles can get hot fast).The other thing I really appreciated was how upfront they were during the service about any extra charges. Anytime I asked for something that wasn’t included in the basic manicure package (like callous removal, special topcoat, etc) the tech stopped, explained the price to me, and waited until I confirmed to resume.They are clean, fast, and very skilled - highly recommend Zara if you’re in NYC and want a painless dry manicure.“

“I just moved to the neighborhood and stopped by for a manicure. I called ahead and still had to wait but I didn’t mind because the staff was very nice. I was lucky enough to get Sunita to do my manicure (she and her husband are the owners) and the experience was lovely. She did a great job and was very sweet. I look forward to making this my weekly manicure pedicure destination. Only negative comment- they need a better variety of colors and some of the polishes seemed to be old.“
