Mark is my hair stylist and he is very professional and knows what to do. His skills are amazing and he can do pretty much anything you want to your hair! I am always able to find parking on the street or the EL stop is right there. Everyone is super friendly and I wouldn't hesitate in telling my friends to come in!
TLDR: Maggie is Magical! I've always been the BoRics, Great Clips, Hair Cuttery, etc kind of person. I never really scheduled my cuts, colors, or perms. After 7 years of not chemically processing my hair and growing it out, I decided I wanted to make a change. I decided that I would reach out to Maggie, who I've known for years, but never had a chance to go to since I lived out of state. I knew she would be looking out for my best interest and would be able to tell me whether my vision was actually attainable. We got together twice recently, once for a cut (a couple weeks ago) and once for color (today). Both times, I was so impressed with her talents! I can't see myself going to get strip mall haircuts or color ever again! If you're reading this, you might be thinking, "This girl is just writing a nice post for her friend." It is true that I'm writing a post about a friend, but truth be told, I would still write this post in a heartbeat if I didn't know her. I think if you see other reviews about her, you'll see she is well loved and is a VERY talented artist!
Andre gave me a fantastic Brazilian blowout and I couldn't be happier. Upon arrival, Andre was just finishing up with an older client (whose hair looked fantastic, by the way). She came up to me and said "you're new here, aren't you?" When I said yes, she said "you're lucky you found Andre. I've been coming to him for 30 years--he's the best in the business." And with a wink, she left me to Andre's chair. Quite the ringing endorsement--and it didn't fall short. Andre is the real deal--highly professional, meticulous to detail, and yet incredibly efficient (the whole service took about 90 minutes). I entered the salon with thick, frizzy curly hair and left with the straight, shiny sleek hair I've always wanted. The service itself is pricy, though I did a LOT of research and this is about the best price you can find for an official Brazilian blowout in Chicago (beware of the knock-offs--go to www.brazilianblowout.com to review the list of certified salons). Anyway, it was totally worth the money to me because it'll cut 5-10 hours of styling time out of my week. I've lived in Chicago for five years and have bounced around salons a lot, but I think back to the woman's words of wisdom that she told me earlier that day: I do feel lucky that I found Andre. I will definitely be back!
