I was looking for a salon where I could cut my hair and it wouldn't be too pricey. I found Salon Ava on Yelp and they had great reviews which drew me to them. I called and I was able to schedule an appointment later that day. They have a shared parking lot with Palama supermarket and other stores so it was quite busy around my appointment time (12pm). I came here a few times. And honestly my haircut is basic and simple. I just do a straight cut because all the years I've gotten layers. It had made my hair very frizzy and hard to maintain . It doesn't take them no longer than 10 mins but charge me $40. It doesn't bother me much but it is pricy. I took my daughter here for her first haircut, basically a very simple trim because honestly all her baby hair just needed to go. I asked for a simple straight across trim. Lady only took about 5 mins on her hair because my daughter decided to throw a tantrum after she was so sure she wanted it cut and charged me $30 for it. Now that's expensive! I am SO happy i stumbled upon this salon. I needed a cut and color since the place i used to go to canceled my appointment without telling me (never going there again after such a great experience at salon Ava). Ava was more than happy to accommodate my last minute cut and highlight and I am so happy with the results. 1. she was incredibly sweet. 2. the salon was very clean. 3. she did a full highlight + toner + cut in about 2 and a half hours and the results were incredible. I could not be happier with the quality of cut and color. She is proof that you do not need to sit in a salon chair for 4-5 hours to see good results.
