We purchased a commercial property in Denver in the beginning of 2018. A seller provided us with a Skyline Contractors Roof Certification stating that the roof is moisture proof for 5 years. The letter was dated as of 3.31.17 signed by Alex Moser, General Manager. Some time in summer of 2018 our roof started to leak. We addressed this issue to Skyline Contractors. We received multiple responses starting with “Alex Moser is not employed with the company any longer”, “a recent hail storm is most likely the cause of your leak”, “We have no record of the warranty or installation/repair of your roof and are trying to figure out how the cert came about. Our company, nor does any company, warrant roofs that were not installed by said company“… After going back and forth for a while Skyline Contractors finally sent out their representative Rudi to inspect the roof in person. After looking at the roof he stated that the certificate was not supposed to be issued in the first place. After that we were advised to contact the company’s GM Scott Welch. Neither Scott nor anybody else from the company has responded to our email since September 2018. We have an Engineer’s Report confirming that it was not hail or any other weather damage that caused the roof leak. It was just a bad decision of the company to issue this certificate in the first place.
