“So, Xan-Man and I hit up Del Wee to get some fresh haircuts for the holidays. We ended up looking like “twinsies” by the time we left ?. But let me tell you, it wasn’t just about the haircuts.Lila, has cut my hair a number of times over the last few years. We chatted about everything - how my dad passed away earlier this year. She used to cut his hair before his dementia got too bad. I mentioned Xander’s recent T1D diagnosis and how it'd been a tough year. She felt so bad about everything. I explained we were making the best of everything and doing much better than we were 5 months ago.A super cool random thing happened while Xander was waiting for me to finish up. He found his old "This Monster Needs a Haircut” book that he'd left behind like 6 years ago after getting his haircut there the first time. Talk about a blast from the past! He didn’t remember it, but we had a good laugh.Here’s the kicker - when I went to pay, Lila was like, “No charge for your son, and $25 for you.” I tried to decline, but she insisted, telling me to treat Xander for Christmas. How awesome is that?I couldn’t leave without showing some gratitude. Rushed to my car, hoping to find a Xander’s Journey sticker, but no dice. Luckily, I had some JDRF bracelets and #SeeTheSigns posters. They loved them!Long story short, Del Wee isn’t just a barbershop. It’s a place where you walk in for a haircut and walk out with your heart full. Big shoutout to Lila and her team for not just the fresh cuts, but also for the laughs and kindness.“

Jean has completely changed that for me! I don’t have to explain what I want when I visit. They wash my hair, and then I sit down and she does her thing! She’s fast and I don’t feel pressure to chat about anything while she’s cutting my hair. She is worth the price.
