“I highly recommend Church of Steel to anyone that wants to get pierced! I called 4 other shops that were highly recommended, unfortunately my daughter was too young to be pierced at their shops. Church of Steel was my last attempt at calling around and Art was so kind and accommodating. He was flexible with our appointment time, just wanted to make sure we were comfortable. Jay was our piercer, who was just as kind, calm and thorough. Jay is certified/took the necessary course to pierce babies. My daughter was first to be pierced, Jay explained EVERYTHING to us and what to expect. Even played the Bluey theme song to try to comfort her. My best friend and I were next to be pierced. Bestie has a huge fear of needles. Jay was just as calm, comforting and let us chat his ear off. The environment was so clean, sterile, and pretty cool artwork and pictures in the shop. They only accept cash but there’s an ATM in store.“

“I’ve been coming to Culleton for my tattoos for years and his work is unbeatable. I’ve now taken my husband and 5-6 closest friends to get tattooed by him as well. Everyone at this shop is so talented and such awesome company, and this shop has a great vibe. It’s a great place to spend the afternoon and get some new artwork. I’ve gotten work at easily a dozen different shops over the years and this one is the best. I highly recommend you go see Culleton here. Here’s pics of a Bigfoot he did on my husband, and my Japanese family crest, a Mom tattoo and the word “hustle” he did on me. Culleton is extremely versatile and I’ve seen him knock out fine line, black & grey, traditional, neotraditional, illustrative and color, all equally right out of the park.“

“couldn’t say enough great things about the shop and my artist, nick.nick has done quite a few of my tattoos and the experience is top notch - he goes out of his way to make sure i’m comfortable during the experience, produces amazing work, and always meets me with amazing conversation. further than getting a tattoo, it feels more like hanging out with a friend and i leave feeling slightly cooler than i felt coming in. i’ve done a mix of his designs and mine and every time he delivers something stronger than i was expecting and is open to tweaks or adjustments as needed.i see any reason to go to anybody else in san diego, truthfully.the shop is clean, has a really cool vibe, and everybody there seems to communicate really well and they genuinely all seem like great people.“
