And let me tell you, these folks are punctual. When they say your massage starts at 3:05, they mean it. Now, let's talk about the massage therapists Michelle and Gina because they're the real MVPs here. They're kind and intuitive, but don't let their friendly demeanor fool you - when it comes to massage, they can pack a punch! They know exactly where to press, knead, and push to get those stubborn knots out. It's the perfect mix of "Ooh, that's the spot" and "Wow, I didn't even know I needed that." They tailor the session to what you need, making sure you walk out feeling like a million bucks. All in all, Amina just nails it, especially if you have stubborn knots from working at a computer all day. They're surprisingly strong and know just what to do. A trip to Amina in Jack London is like a mini-vacation without the hassle of packing. They've thought of everything to make sure you leave feeling healthier, more relaxed, and maybe even a little taller than when you came in.“

“I have been coming here for many years as it is down the street from me. I started out with a massage series, which is their packages of 10 if you are committed, and want a cheaper price upfront.Then I would come for my hair services once my friend, who did my hair styling moved out of town. They did a good job, but I was not into sitting there for so long, so I stopped going for that service!Now I am back with another massage, serious, much needed with all of that tension. You build up day by day! The massage rooms are small, but clean and welcoming. There are restrooms both upstairs and downstairs. Some masseuses are better than others so hopefully you can find one that you like and they will stick around. Like most places masseuse turnaround is very high. You can even read profile bios of the masseuses on their website.There is a variety of items you can buy at the front desk area and they have a bench now to sit while you wait for your service.I am also on the email list, so I get announcements of new events.The downside of the massage series is that you have to call in or go in person to buy it and can’t do it online. I like doing everything online and I don’t understand why they don’t have that option for this! Luckily, you can make your appointments online.Emailing the front desk is a hit or miss. Some people reply right away and some miss your email and won’t reply for many days.“

I have Long strawberry blonde hair that I just put in a braid every day and forget it. I’m not into fancy hair care and I had my last trim about 9 months ago (don’t judge me! ?). I put my total faith in Sarah to make my overdue cut into a Oscar worthy stylish down do. OMG I had so many compliments that evening and the next day on my haircut and style from Sarah! I felt like I was starring in my own personal movie. Sarah did an amazing job on my hair, I will be returning to her again and again!!“

If you are looking for a place to care for your curly hair that doesn’t charge ridiculous prices, come here. It is up the stairs in the Safeway shopping center, behind Peets Coffee. Plenty of parking. Nice and friendly. I’ve tried a few salons for curly hair in Oakland and this is is the best. They don’t make you fee like your hair is hard or troublesome requiring a $$$ cut. Vibe is casual and chatty, friendly.“

“I cannot sing this salon or Kenneth’s praises enough. He was able to take my hair from a dark, intense copper red to a Smokey ash blonde in one appointment with no damage. Do you know how impossible that is!? I’m pretty sure that is considered witchcraft in some states. Apart from giving me the most amazing hair transformation imaginable, the entire staff were so sweet and thoughtful. They were constantly checking on me, asking if I needed anything to drink, a snack or even if they could order me a meal.
