Kang's Smog Check

I came here on a Thursday afternoon, and there were 2 people ahead of me. Each smog check takes about 15 min, so call ahead to see if there's a large line. Once you bring your car, he will do everything for you and give you the papers. The smog check gets sent to the DMV electronically, and he just gives you a receipt of the test. Great service.

I seem to buy a lot of cars out of state and one of the requirements for registering the vehicle in California is a smog check. As I have found with the last couple vehicles I registered the cost for a smog check can range quite a bit. When my last vehicle cost $120 for a smog check (at the mechanic shop who took it to get smog checked without me) I decided I needed to shop around. I literally googled smog check near me and Kang's popped up. I gave them a quick phone call at around 5:00pm asking what the cost was, much to my surprise it was only $40! Once I confirmed the cost I asked how the schedule looked for tomorrow thinking they wouldn't want me in there with less than 30 minutes left in their day and they asked if I could make it down before they closed. I had no problem getting there within a few minutes and the entire process took about 15 minutes to complete. I was extremely pleased with how efficient and friendly they were! One thing, they are in the same parking lot as one of the only decently priced gas stations in town so expect it to be busy and crowded when you try and navigate the parking lot.

Kang is the only smog station we use. He is quick, kind, and efficient. I would highly recommend him for your test only vehicles. Additionally, his pricing is low compared to other smog businesses.
