“I brought a gown for same day alteration and the service was FANTASTIC. Truth be told, I was stressed out preparing for a performance -- I bought this dress years ago but have never worn it -- and I knew I had to get it hemmed. But I was only given a short notice to wear the dress for this performance and I needed to find a place that would make the alteration quickly. I was just struck by how friendly the staff was from the phone call to my visit to measure the hem-- you can't underestimate the power of great customer service when you're stressed out about other things. I was ready to pay much more than they charged -- they were even kind to try to give me a break but I was so grateful they could do it and were so nice about it -- I wasn't worried about a price break. When you're reducing my stress -- TAKE MY MONEY. I also asked if they could press the dress and add a little hook at the top of the zipper -- I did not need to chance a wardrobe malfunction! They were again super kind to agree to do that. I dropped the dress around 10am and they promised it would be ready after 5pm. PERFECT. A couple of hours later, my hula sisters who had the same dress also needed theirs pressed. I called this place and they said sure, bring them by to get pressed. Again, friendly and price was so right. I picked all 4 gowns up at 5:30pm and it was swift. I couldn't help but leave a cash tip for the staff that they tried to turn down but I insisted. I didn't know how much I needed such a great customer service experience and I knew I had to Yelp about it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.“

“I highly recommend Maureen's Alterations. I had bought a nice dress a few sizes too big years ago because I really liked the material, style, color, print, etc. I never came around having it altered because there was not a special occasion. My son was due to graduate college and I figured it was time. My usual alterations place was not fulfilling my expectations since the last 2 alterations did not come out right and was way overpriced. I set about looking for a new place on Yelp and found Maureen. I was pleasantly surprised and very satisfied at how well she altered a size 12 dress to fit my size 6 frame. The dress came out perfect, as if I had bought it originally in a size 6.. Her work came out clean and seamless (for lack of a better word). It fit very well and to top it off, she charged me a very reasonable amount. I am already looking for more items in my closet to have altered. I don't normally write reviews but I felt the need to leave one in this case. I highly recommend this place and will be referring friends if they need any alterations done. Don't look any further, stop by Maureen's and you won't regret it!“

“I went to downtown La to look for communion dresses and my daughter did not like any. So on the way home I told my husband stop here (we live right down the street). We got off to look and my daughter right way found a dress (it was the last one). We had it altered a bit and picked up a week later. Probably one of the best dress shops in montebello. The people that work there are super friendly and have the cutest lil dogs :). I recently just returned to have a dress I purchased at the mall adjusted and it was inexpensive and done within 3 days. I started out taking a few sweaters to test the waters and see how they'd turn out. Thus far, I've taken in easily 15 cashmere, mohair and various wool blend sweaters with multiple holes and the work has been stellar. As well as the cleaning. What's more they actually care that you're happy. That's huge to me. I've had more than a few bad dry cleaner experiences so I'm very trepidatious. And my UGGs?
